Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the fees?

On top of the exceptional personalised care and early learning provided, our fees are inclusive of nappies, water, wipes, sunscreen, bedding and portfolio books.
Formula is not provided – this must be brought in from home if required.

Fees & payment of fees

Fees are to be paid a week in advance.
We suggest setting up a weekly automatic payment through your bank. We also offer a direct debit option, which incurs a small additional transaction fee. Fees are due one week in advance — invoices are emailed each Monday and due by Thursday for the week ahead. We appreciate prompt payment to ensure your account remains up to date.
Fees must be paid for every day that your child is enrolled, including any day your child is absent.

Late payment of childcare fees

This may incur a 10% penalty on your account and failure to pay fees may result in a cancellation of your enrolment. If account balances remain unpaid, then all costs of debt collection will be payable by you.

What Government support is available?

We offer the 20 Hours ECE subsidy for children aged 3–5. A child is eligible for this on their third birthday. 20 hours is available for up to six hours per day. As Country Gate is open for 10 hours per day, fees will be charged for the hours not covered by the provision of 20 hour ECE.
We also accept WINZ Childcare Subsidies for eligible whānau. The Early Learning Payment (ELP) is also available to those who meet its eligibility criteria.

Whānau may also be eligible for FamilyBoost, a government payment introduced to help with the cost of early childhood education. FamilyBoost provides a partial refund on childcare fees, depending on household income.

Our team is happy to help you understand these options and complete any paperwork needed to access the support you’re entitled to.

Work & income

If you have a WINZ subsidy you are still responsible to ensure that your account is paid in advance at all times and any part which is not covered by the subsidy. It is your responsibility to let Work and Income know of any changes to circumstances or your child’s attendance. It is your responsibility to inform Work and Income of any benefits you have through the 20 hours ECE scheme.

Collection of children

The centre is licensed by The Ministry of Education from 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday and must close strictly at this time. Please contact us if unforeseen circumstances make it impossible for you to pick up your child on time.
Please note children may only leave the centre with adults listed on the enrolment form.

Are public holidays included in the fees?

Our fees are structured to include public holidays. Therefore, no discount is applied when a public holiday falls on your childs usual booking day. This ensures consistent staffing and operational costs are met so we can maintain high-quality care all year round.

Holidays & absenses

After attending the centre for 3 months your child will be entitled to 15 days per year at 50% fees. This must be applied for in writing 2 weeks before the first day of the holiday. You need to discuss any extended absences with the centre manager.

Can I change my child's enrolled days?

Yes, we understand that family circumstances can change. Requests to increase or change booked days can be made directly with our centre administrator and will depend on space availability. We require at least two weeks’ notice for any permanent changes to ensure consistency for staffing and planning. Please see the Resource Hub tab for the form. We require two weeks notice in writing if you wish to terminate a permanent booking. Please inform Work and Income of any changes made.

Childcare Centre Rules & Policies

Is there a sibling discount?

Yes, we offer a 10% sibling discount for the second and subsequent tamariki enrolled from the same whānau. Please speak with us on how this is applied.
